The Lion King Musical was in Singapore since March 2011. Thou I do thought of going for it but was hesitant cos of the ticket pricing and not sure if I will be bored as I had never watch any musical before. Well, but my company had a corporate rate which is offer a slight discounts so me and Dear decided to go watch and asked along Shan & Renjie!
A quick synopsis taken from their writeup
THE LION KING explodes with glorious colours, stunning effects and enchanting music including Elton John and Tim Rice's Academy Award-winning 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight'. At its heart is the powerful and moving story of Simba - the epic adventure of his journey from wide-eyed cub to his destined role as King of the Pridelands
As me and Dear were early, we walked around Marina Bay Sands and saw the exhibits of the musical...
A mini-mock up of the props used in the musical...
Soon, it was time to go in for the show which we met up with Shan & Renjie at the entrance.
Inside the theatre
Dear with the program booklet that cost $10 but filled with all informations of all the casts, productions etc... The booklet were filled with much information and photos of the productions.
Me & Dear
The show started off with almost all the cast walking in with the puppets down the 2 aisles which is so spectacular and breathtaking! There were birds, antelopes, elephant, baby elephant, rhino, cheetah etc... Simply blown away by the first scene. Throughout the show, you were reminded by the cartoon movie as you watch on if you had watched the movie before.

Beautiful colors, props used, stage lightings, sound effects etc were carefully considered throughout the whole show! There were live music played from the stage pit, dancers who took up different roles and characters at different scenes! The dancers were so graceful and delicate in their movements to look like the animals characters. The musical also carried along the "Spirit of Africans". The musical proved my initial feelings wrong and I really enjoyed the show and Dear even thou of watching it again! Well... maybe... perhaps...
As no phototaking were allowed, I could only show some photos I took from the booklet...
After the musical, I only managed to take one photo of it before I were stopped.
There is still chance to catch the amazing spectacular show as they had extended to 11 September 2011 so quickly log on to: http://thelionking.com.sg/ to book the tickets! Tickets ranges from $65 to $240 (excluding sistic charge). They also have a blog : http://thelionkingsg.blogspot.com/
Don't miss this show! I strongly recommend it! *Thumbs up*
