Hong Kong Day 3

We spent our day 3 in Macau!

There are 2 locations you can take the ferry from Hong Kong to Macau.

1) Macau Ferry Terminal, in Central, Hong Kong Island (not far from exit D of MTR-Sheung Wan)
2) HK China ferry terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon (adjacent to Harbor City)

We took our ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui. As we try to find our way to the ferry terminal and if your wallet allows... here's some recommendations:

From HK to Macau: One ticket cost HK128 per pax. The journey time is approximately one hour

Note: The ticket charges will be slightly more expensive if you are taking ferry back from Macau to HK after 5pm.

Once you reach the pier, you can just go across the road via an underpass to take a free shuttle service to The Venetian. Don't pay any attention to the local guides that offer you those half/full day tour package etc...

Public Washroom in The Venetian

This is where Boys over Flower (花より男子) was taken... if you remember there is a scene where Geum Jan Di (Acted by Koo Hye Sun) with the 3 boys Yoon Ji Hoo (Acted by Kim Hyun Joong), So Yi Jeong (Acted by Kim Bum) and Song Woo Bin (Acted by Kim Joon) sat on the gondola through the canal.

The Gondola Experience
Per ticket is MOP 108= HK108=$18

It was a nice experience. With us, there was another Hong Kong couple with us on the gondola. The boater will use their powerful voice to sing their local for you. To our surprise, our boater had worked in Singapore before thus we had a common topic to start our conversation.

During the ride, we were "instructed" that everytime we pass through bridge, there is a practice in The Venetian that all lovers had to kiss their partner. In total, there were 5 bridges so which means we had to kiss 10 times in total! Dear and I "obeyed" the instruction but the Hong Kong couple only did it once!

However we had a even better surprise! Our boater surprised us by singing 月亮代表我的心!

After the ride, there will be a sales personnel attending to you showing you photos that they had took. They offer keychain photo, calendar photo or 5R photo. We purchased a calendar photo at HK120 as a souvenir to remind us of the experience!

After the ride, we decided to head for this Japanese Restaurant. We had wanted to try in Hong Kong but it was always full house but over here... it is not!

We ordered sashimi and sushi. This meal costed us about MOP/HK306 excluding service charges etc...which I find it quite reasonable.

There will also be performances/street art at interval timing at the different canals...do check out the timing if you wish to see it.

We had only visited The Venetian as we had covered Ruins of St Paul in our last trip.

The area over there is quite a tourist hit as they sell local food such as portuguese tart and pork chop bun.  You can also get to try out Bak Kwa samples at their local stores or other goodies samples at Kao Kei Pastry.

You may also want to purchase some local goodies... My mum loves their Almond Cakes from Choi Keong Yuan Bakery and requested me to buy 5 boxes.. (If i remember correctly, 1 box is about HK28). Dear bought soft and hard peanut snack from Kao Kei Pastry.

If you are lost in The Venetian canals, don't worry as there are information machines (Do not have any photos for that) that you go select maps and even guide you to the specific shops you are looking at.

I enjoyed my Day 3 and it was almost 9+pm when we reached Hong Kong. Counting down to my last day...
