Bangkok 2012 - Day 2

We had our breakfast at the restaurant at level one. They have a counter that takes your order to do your choice of egg similar to what I had in Krabi.

Buffet spread which we were pampered by the choices. The dishes is different everyday except for the standard western and pastries/bread.

My first breakfast consist of porride, ham omelette, noodles and some potato. I went for a second portion where I had pumpkin soup! Yummy... which I missed takin the photo.

We set off to Amari Watergate Hotel where the guys will do their tailored shirts etc.

There were a few shops there but as Melvin had done it at this particular shop before, we sticked to his recommendation. The shop is called Paul's Fashion. When we reached the shop, it was the only shop filled with people.

The guys spent about 40 minutes doing their negotiation and measurement. After that, we went over to Platinum Mall for....? And yes.. you are right! SHOPPING! For all of us who had been to Bangkok or will be coming here, you must never miss coming to Platinum Mall.

Although over the years, the prices went up a little but as long as you buy "wholesale" which is at least 2-3 pieces from the same shop, you will get it at wholesale price which is cheaper! The group went separate ways and arranged to meet up at the foodcourt for lunch.

The foodcourt was crowded. It took us a while before we got a seat. The guys went to buy a lot of food to share beside having a main dish of our own.

Thai salad... (Sour and spicy which is very "shiok")

Intestines and braised pork...

Oyster omelette... generous serving of oyster but too oily for us

Duck meat... very lean and fragrance

Melvin's pad thai...

Beef soup... super tasty...

Yong tau fu...

A few of us ordered pork cutlet rice...

After a sumptuous lunch, due to heavy downpour we continued to hang around at Platinum Mall means more shopping time. Haha...We went to Ben & Jerry for ice...cream.... before dinner at Chinatown.

We took a tuk tuk for 250 bahts to Chinatown as it was peak hour and jammed. Despite the heavy traffic, we managed to arrive at T & K Seafood restaurant about half an hour in the rain. Thankfully, we were seated down inside rather than the outdoor area.

Here comes the "scary" part! We glanced through the menu and everyone went "so cheap, so cheap". We started ordering...

Fried fish ...

Spicy fish which all of us really enjoyed it. The sauce was so much tastier than tom yum soup...

Fried chicken..

Oyster omelette...

Tom yum soup...

Big juicy prawn...

Stirred-fried morning glory...

Fried rice with prawn...

Crab! 250 bahts only for Javyon...

Sotong...

We paid about 2400 bahts for all the food which is very very cheap!

After dinner, we won't miss going for bird nest and shark fin which is very cheap at Chinatown!

Dear had the shark fin almost all to himself as most of us are too full from dinner to continue enjoy it...

Melvin introduced this bread shop which apparently is quite famous among the local and the price is quite cheap too ranging from 10-25 bahts for different types of filling. You can choose from the traditional sugar butter toast to chocolate etc...

Our first group picture taken when Jayvon bought a spiderman balloon...

We went to a local delicacy shop where we spotted this cutes shih tzu doggie where Mel cannot resist taking photo with it!

We ended the day and went back after buying some cheap fruits. The night is still young so we continued playing card games in our living till we are almost zzz...

Stay tuned for Day 3.
