Krabi 2012 (Day 2 Part 1 - Emerald & Blue Pool)

Day 2 in Krabi! We actually booked back the same tuk tuk and took his recommended day tour to go for some of the tourists' hotspots. For a whole day morning from 10am to evening 6pm, we paid 2000 bahts.

We had our breakfast at 915am as our tuk tuk pickup is at 10am. The resort restaurant just started their renovation on the day we arrived so they set-up the breakfast temporary at their lobby.

They had a standby chef which take our order which we can choose from scramble eggs to cheese omelette, french toast or even pancakes.

I enjoyed their breakfast as I can get to see the beach view from our dining table. Compared to Phuket, Krabi is less crowded and slower. So as we sat to eat breakfast, you are not so disturbed by the moving traffic which is very relaxing.

View from the hotel entrance.

Us getting ready to move to our first destination...

Krabi has alot of these mountains and with the beautiful weather, I cannot resist taking photos of the scenary. Haha...

Dear was tryin to sleep while the tuk tuk is moving...

It took us about 1.5 hours to reach our first location - Emerald & Blue Pool.

All visitors need to pay an entrance fee including their locals. For tourists, we need to pay 200 bahts per head and for locals, if I remember correctly it is 100 bahts.

From the entrance, we need to walk about 1.6km to Emerald Pool.

Basically it is a natural clear pool which is not that attractive to me lah. Anyway we took a quick dip in the pool before moving on to see Blue Pool.

It is another 600m walk to Blue Pool.

There is a signage which says "No swimming" which it was a pity to me. However it was the source of the spring water which we actually saw bubbling coming from the bottom. If everyone starts swimming there, I don't think there will be a blue pool anymore soon!

Next, we moved on to the Hot Stream which is about 10 minutes away.

It is similar to Taiwan hot spring but this is a smaller version so it is called a stream! Haha...my guess only!

Thankfully we went on a monday as the place is usually packed on weekends. We soaked for about an hour before starting feeling hungry.

After the hot stream enjoyment, we asked our tuk tuk driver to bring us somewhere nearby for meal. 3 sprite for Dear as he was very thirsty! Anyway it was only 15 bahts per bottle.

We had some trouble trying to order the food due to the language barrier as the place he brought us to was really a "super local shop" where they don't understand English. Thank God that there was a man who had just finished his meal and he understand simple English. With his help, we managed to order our food.

I had chicken kway tiao soup which the soup was very tasty! The bean sprout was very crunchy although the portion was little small for me.

Dear wanted beef kway tiao soup but ended up with stirred fried beef kway tiao. This dish is similar to our char kway tiao. It is not too bad just that the beef is quite hard.

We spent 120 bahts for 2 dishes and 3 bottle of sprite... and that is like less than $5!

That's all for Part 1. Up next, I will be blog about Part 2 where we visited the Tiger Cave Temple!
