It is Phi Phi Island Tour day! Yeah I am so excited as previously did not go for it when I went Phuket in May 2012. This is actually a day tour which starts about 830am to 4pm. You can easily book the tour from any agencies along the streets and usually cost 1800 bahts per person.
However we book it through our hotel and we only paid 1400 bahts per person and it is charged to our final hotel room charges when we check out. For most of the day tours, they will arrange pick-up from your hotel so for us we woke up earlier to have breakfast before they come.
Upon arrival at the "jetty", we were greeted by the sights of long-tailed boats and speed boats. Thankfully ours is a speedboat.
We did a quick "registration" before we board our speedboat no 8 and depart off. Some awesome views while I took on my seat, clinging on to balance myself and not drop my camera as the speedboat went "Arriba Arriba, Andale Andale"
Haha found it familar? It is what speedy gonzales will say...
The speedboat went to Ko Lanta to pick up another 2 couples and due to the shallow water, it had to blast fully creating a big splash which was a spectacular view for most of us as we went Wah... Wow.. Argh as the water splashes in on us.
You can see how wet I got as I stood while the speedboat battles the waves. Dear also got wet even seated down.
We were greeted by the beautiful clear water as we approached first stop - Bamboo Island.
We spent a little while, I meant really little while like 10 minutes trying to snorkel but we failed so we ended up just soaking in the water and rested for 15 minutes before we gather back to the speedboat. We were given an hour on Bamboo Island.
Next we were brought to see the bird nest cave...
After which we moved on to Maya Beach! You can see how clear and shallow the water is! Our speedboat became "slow" boat as we went approaches the beach.
That's my man! Simply love him!
Presenting to you... Maya Beach! This is where the famous Leonardo DiCaprio filmed the movie called "The Beach".
The only thing you can do at Maya Beach is to ... Go toilet! Haha... Just joking...You can still also soak in the water or do what most of us do - Take photos! It was a quick 20 minutes stop before we depart for lunch.
Last shot before we left Maya Beach...
We had a 2 hours lunch break which was buffet lunch on Phi Phi Island itself and went exploring around the mini market that consists of many stores that sells clothes, diving packages. There are also a few hotels that you can stay on Phi Phi Island.
After lunch, we went to the other side of Phi Phi Island where we can spend about an hour doing snorkeling.
The boaters prepared bread that they feed the fish with. They threw the bread into the sea and immediately you can see the school of fish gathering quickly and nibble it. Soon, the bread disappeared.
Me and my new friend, Ayn snorkeling away....
As shared in one of my post, we made 4 new friends from Malaysia and Taiwan respectively. We added each other on facebook too...
After a long day out, we came back to the hotel about 4pm looking darker! I got sun burnt too... While Dear rest in the room, I came out and cross over the street to take some sunset photos. Most of my shots looks similar so just share one here.
We went back to the same street food hawker but this round we tried another stall. We ordered the grilled chicken and this round it was served in a full piece compared to the first stall which they chopped it smaller. Nevertheless, it tasted as good...
My chicken kway tiao similar to our local char kway tiao... The different is that thai people loves peanut and you can also find it in most of their noodles dishes...
Fried egg which I prefer the first stall..
Red curry! Yummy...
Stirred fried beef which was very tough and oily... Sorry this is my only photo as I took it with my iphone.
Finally, we ended the meal with me having green apple ice blend which there was a lot of fibre. I still prefer the dragon fruit ice blend which Dear drank.
We went back to rest early as our flight is in the early morning. That's the end of our short 4D3N getaway which I really enjoyed and relaxed! Up next, my bangkok trip blogs. Stay tuned!
