Baby Gareth 8 Month Photo Shoot

Baby Gareth had his first photo shoot when he was about 8 months old with his group of baby friends born in the same month.

I will only be sharing his individual photos in this post. We had a 3 themes: Classroom, Naked, Christmas. We bought the same outfit for all baby.

We did the studio shoot with The Studio Loft. Because of the number of babies involved, we split into 2 sessions. Each session had about 7-9 babies!

It was fun yet effort taking to do photo shoot as the photographer and myself needs to catch their attention.

His naked shots...

The classroom theme...

I loved his Christmas theme shoot as he was really smiling at the camera. It was the last theme shoot for him so probably he was comfortable with the environment and relaxed!

I would definitely bring Gareth for another photo shoot when he is older together with Dear.

Pregnancy Journey - Third Trimester

Third trimester started and it has not been easy. With my small build and growing tummy, it is hard travelling to and fro work everyday by public transport.

Sad to say that I only started having more people offering me seats when I was about 32 weeks.

I am not saying that it is a must for me to get a seat on the train, but do consider in our shoes that we have to stand and squeeze with people, worrying that your tummy may get hit or elbow by someone's bag.

Even the SMR*(I don't wish to spell in full) so called service ambassadors, I had never once receive any assistance from them even though I have seen them helping other pregnant ladies especially foreigners to get a seat when they board the train.

I recalled several times I tried standing near that few particular entrances to board where the SMR* staffs would walk further away from me once they saw me.

Well anyway I started my maternity leave on week 38, hopefully Baby Gareth would come out soon as I don't sleep much during the night. My baby Gareth loves to be active at night and kick me at the side which is painful!

Another thing is that you just can't find that sleeping posture with the big tummy! I am not grumbling anything ya but sharing what I went through as everyone has a different process.

I am loving this baby more everyday and can't wait for his arrival.

My appetite has never increase a lot so I only gained about 8kg so far. The final countdown means I can eat "all I want" before my confinement. Yummy!

Ending my post with some photos!

Pregnancy Journey - Second Trimester

I am really lagging so much. It has been a year since I last blogged. My little baby Gareth had turned one last week!

I will try my best to resume my blogging and keep it updated.

Let me quickly continue my pregnancy journey before sharing how the past 1 year of being a mother had been.

In a blink of an eye, I now into my second trimester. I am glad that my appetite is picking up slowly and my little tummy is showing! I realised that even before the tummy is showing, there is a tenancy of me (ok, not just me... I noticed almost all mum to be) will put their hand on their tummy unknowingly.

Take a closer notice when you are on train, you can identity a pregnant lady (especially if you have been through).

Some photos of me during second trimester.

This is taken in November 2013 (about 20 weeks).

Thankfully I did not get any water retention on my legs except sometimes my hands will. Sleeping had slowly became challenging as I could only sleep sideway or face up. Getting up must be careful too!

Looking back, I actually enjoyed my second trimester the most! I will share on my third trimester experience in the next post.

Bistro @ Cool De Sac

Bistro @ Cool De Sac is newly opened dining place at Suntec City. Since Dear was working at Suntec, I went down after work to meet him and had dinner there.

Part of the dining area... I understand that we can do reservation booking for large groups which they can arrange it inside the area (after the sliding glass door in photo).

Appetizer - Fried sweet potato which I like it...

Dear ordered a beef hamburger set... Quite nice

Tandoori Chicken Pizza - Thin crust and yummy however I think the chicken can be a little more generous...

We also ordered a lemonade which the waitress was very attentive to inform me (seeing me with my big tummy) that there is lemon inside in case some pregnant ladies avoid taking it.

The waitress also took the initiative to serve me warm water without me asking which most restaurant/dining places servers will not do so.

Our total bill came up about $40++ which is very reasonable.

Pregnancy Journey - First Trimester

Looking back at my first trimester, I was really amazed how I was able to bear through the morning sickness for some time before caving in to see my gynae to be admitted to hospital.

It was really so bad that I could not eat or drink and yet still can vomit throughout the day at least 8 times. I hanged on till I was about 6 weeks pregnant before I called and made an appointment to see my gynae.

By then, I had lost about 3kg and my gynae mentioned that I am one of those handful cases that is more extreme. I remember seeing my gynae on a friday night and even accompany Dear for a rehearsal session which lasted past midnight as I was feeling lazy and lonely to be home alone with the "sickness" clinging to me. Of cos, I rested throughout the waiting time and fell asleep.

Eventually, we decided to admit to Mount Alvernia on sunday night which Dear expects the crowd to be lesser. And true enough, there isn't much crowd. I chose a 4 bedder and there was only another patient during my first night.

It was a weird feeling as it was my first time being admitted to hospital and Dear could not stay overnight with me unless it is a single room. I was put on drip for 3 days 2 night which was not a nice feeling having a needle in your left wrist area.

I would need to press for assistance every time I need to visit the washroom as the drip machine will have to "follow" everywhere I go. Until the second night onwards, I attempted to go to the washroom myself  which is not that difficult... haha!

I was given another week of hospital leave to rest at home. The week was a slow, torturing week as I was having bad acid reflux. One week later, I went to see my gynae and by then I had lost another kg (total 4kgs already) although I was still slowly taking in some fluid and soft diet food.

The morning sickness continued throughout the whole of first trimester. Dear was very supportive of me and trying his best to make me feel comfortable. Looking back , he will sometimes joke about seeing me "hugging" the toilet bowl and can stay there for a long while.

Well, this is part of the pregnancy journey and not all mummies to be experience morning sickness. If you didn't experience it, count your blessings. But if you do have it, I want to encourage all the mummies to be to hang on and know that there is a little one that you are carrying which is constantly growing. With a blink of an eye, the first trimester will be over very soon.
