过大礼

Last weekend was my Guo Da Li 过大礼.

My soon to be MIL and aunt were the ones who chose the cake shop and design for our cake orders so me and Dear only just need to go order and pay money! Thank God for the blessings that Sean's aunt offered to pay for the cakes!

Our cakes were from Savoury Fare and the design and price were reasonable. We ordered a total of 30 boxes which they could do delivery to us however as there is a 过大礼 time, we decided to pick it up that morning ourselves.

There were 4 flavors: Coffee, Chocolate, Cream and I think blueberry? I only tried 2 flavors and the taste is like our tradition cream cakes that I used to eat when I was a kid. However it was the lovely heart heart design that made the presentation look great!

You can check them out at:

Our 过大礼 was a simple one and thankfully my MIL scrapped away most of the traditional items such as the toothbrush, wash basin etc...

We only had the "must" items and add on new set of pyjamas, "tum pui" with ginger, lanterns etc...We got our items from Chinatown which you can get almost everything over there. I even managed to get my flower girl baskets over there when I went the 3rd time thou I have been searching all over and even online...

After the 过大礼, I went around to a few places to distribute the cakes to some relatives and gosh... it was tiring! Me and Dear had a good 1 hour sleep before we went out for dinner.

Counting down to our BIG Day! (",)
