Bintan 2012 (Part 1)

Finally I got the time to blog after my 2nd sem exams. Time to blog about my Bintan trip which was a quick short getaway for our 1st wedding anniversary.

Crowd at Tanah Merah ferry terminal...

Us waiting to go off...

Beautiful morning!

The ferry ride is about an hour and soon we arrived at Bintan...

We actually bought online deal coupon which is $118 per pax excluding ferry taxes etc. The whole deal includes a 2D1N stay at Nirwana Beach Club with flying fox, horse-riding, elephant ride, bowling, table tennis, archery and shooting.

I was surprised that Bintan water was quite clear but cannot compare to Krabi or Phuket! I still love these islands which I adore clear blue water!

Our room was not ready so we took the internal shuttle bus to the activities area and started off bowling at 1030am. We had a free round of bowling and then we added another round which cost us $4 per game.

Round 1 score...

Round 2 score... seems that both of us are not very talented in bowling...

Our deal includes a stay in the cabana house which look similar to a chalet...

The interior feel which is not my style...

Well in the end, I persuaded Dear to do an upgrade to Nirwana Hotel Resort which we paid another $100 more. Haha actually I already had the intention to upgrade after reading and looking through the reviews and photos of the cabana room.

We had to wait for our upgrade which we only managed to check in at 3+pm. So from lunchtime till then, we hanged around the resort and had lunch at Dino Bistro.

Ordered a vanilla milkshake which they had bailey inside ($8)

Skinny Hawaiian pizza ($16)

A quick look around Nirwana Hotel Resort...

Our room...

We settled for dinner at the Poolside Restaurant which we had Korean food ($40) including side dishes, rice and main soup dish with tofu, vegetables, beef.

Bintan food pricing is pretty similar to Singapore price and they also charge either in SGD or Rupiah. I will blog part 2 to share more with the activities real soon.
