Day 3! Omg...When I went up the coach, I realised that I left my water bottle overnight and got a shocked when I saw it. This is what I saw!
The weather was cold until my water became ice! The bus parked overnight at the coach bay and this tells me how cold it was during the night. Anyway in the morning we gave the hot spring a miss as both f us were feeling lazy and that I was not feeling too well the night before. So the group gathered just before lunch time and off we left Phoenix Park.
We made our way down and it's lunch time before we head for Seoraksan National Park! Korea food is mainly consist of cabbage and soup...
After lunch, we set off to Seoraksan National Park (Mount Sorak) which took us about 2 hours to reach there... Along the way, usual of me, I fell asleep and Dear took some nice scenery photos...
Finally we arrived at Mount Sorak but I left my digital camera in the coach so I got these photos from Dear.
It is actually colder here as we are at the mountain area plus the snow! But I really enjoy seeing the view...
A group photo before we continue our way...
Just me...
Simply blown away by the beauty of this place. Sight green scenery with snow covered over it...
You can see how big the place is. There are quite a bit of the locals that we saw were doing hiking! To do hiking here, the shoes must have those kind of spikes underneath the sole in order not to slip and fall. You would not want to get into that situation...
More photos of Mount Sorak...
The tour group were given 30 minutes to explore the place before we gathered together to take the cable car up! The view is much nicer when you are up...
We were given an hour to explore so we followed the trail where the pathway were frozen and slippery! Many a times while we will climbing up, we slipped but managed to grab our grip without falling and we made it to the top!
I could not climb higher to where I took this picture of Dear as it was really slippery and too difficult for me! I even tried crawling up but can't too... We slowly made our way down and along the way, Dear and I fell once each really hard on our butt! There were the locals behind us and when we slipped and fall, they were "Argh" for us!
While waiting to go down, we ordered a cheesy pretzel which was very hot and nice! I think this flavor should be introduced to Singapore!
Night view while going down in the cable car...
Soon, it was dinner time. This round we had cabbage and pork! This is very nice as the pork was marinated beforehand and together with the sweetness of the cabbage...Yummy!
Upon arrival at the hotel lobby, these cakes attracted me.... yummy but we are too full from the dinner!
Strawberry and Blueberry Cheesecake!
Our hotel room at The Class 300, Joyang-Dong, Sokcho-Si, Kangwon-Do
Our long bath that is has a window... haha
After we settle down and rested for an hour, a group of us (those interested) met up with Andy, our tour guide and bus driver where they brought us to eat fresh seafood. All of us divided into different cabs which is just less than 10 minutes away from our hotel. When we reached there, we saw people lighting fireworks.
This is where we are going to have our sea....food....
The stall owner, Ajuma who chose a few seafood for us.
Flat fish...
Squid...
Our table setup for about 13 of us!
I tried taking photos of Ajuma when she was skinning the fish but it was too fast and my digital camera cannot get good shots so this is the best...
Me and Dear while waiting for the food...
Soju to go along with it...
This is the fresh seafood sashimi! The portion is huge for 4 person...
Some additional dish but I duno what is this. Only a few of them dare to eat it!
More fish.... This round is fried fish with egg...
Dear eating the fresh squid which is still moving!
Everyone seems to enjoy the food...
Ajuma used the bones of the fish and turn it into steamboat which in the end many of us started "Shabu Shabu" with the remaining sashimi! Haha
We paid about 20000won each for the seafood we had. I would say consider cheap for the portion we were given! We ended the day with our stomach very full.
