Honeymoon Korea Day 2 - Phoenix Park

We ended our night by travelling up to the ski resort area and having our dinner along the way. On the way up, we stopped by a rental shop where we got our ski jackets and pants which is provided in our package. However you got to rent their ski google and purchase gloves if you do not have any. We alighted the bus and I am excited to see the snow on cars and started taking photos with it!

While waiting for the rest of the tour group to finish, we took some photos outside with all the different ski board when it started to snow...

Can you see the snow???

We took a photo of the snow flake when it landed my jacket. If you take a closer look, it is really a "flake" shape! I was going "Wow"!!! It was very nice and amazing that God even had a design for it.

A close-up photo that I edited...

We continued traveling about 20 minutes before we arrived at the ski resort hotel. Our hotel is called The Hotel at Phoneix Park. I was laughing at the name of the hotel and wonder who will stay there until we reach the lobby and realized that I was laughing at myself! Haha I should have look at my itinerary list to see my hotel name.

Anyway this is our hotel and room pictures...

We had an extra bed. The rooms were all in heater mode the moment you switch on the air con. As we felt stuffy, we decided to open the window to allow the cold air to come in. At that point of time, the temperature probably was about 0 to -5 degree. We left ajar the window throughout the whole night and I woke up shivering as the temperature dropped to... I guess at least -10 degree!

Before we turn in for the night, we went out to explore...

The ski area that we will be going the next morning...Awesome! Night skiing

The next morning, we got ready at 830am after breakfast dressed in our ski attire! We actually were told to wear our thermal wear inside only but I wore a additional long sleeve as I was afraid of the cold.

Our tour guide, Andy (in white/black with yellow hat) giving us crash course on the basic of skiing...

Us in our full gear.... the temperature was 2 degree....

Took a rest and was bored so I drew this for Dear...

Me and Dear...

Next, we will move up the slope to ski down....

Not knowing, Dear took this shot while we sat the gondola up...

We had a fun time skiing down...painful experience thou fun! After a full tiring day, we finally ended our ski experience. We gathered again for dinner nearby...

They were actually selling beef just next door where we have our dinner. If we want, they can convert our steamboat to BBQ hotplate for us so of cos we were told that Korean beef is very nice, so we bought some and share with our makan partners for the trip.

Expensive beef....Just these 2 packets costs us about 36000 wons.

Sizzling beef....

I am not that into beef but I must say that the beef is really good and fresh. No seasoning was added and you can taste the original sweetness in the beef. I ended the meal with a bottle of coke! Slurp!

This is another area where the locals eats and you can see that there is a chimmy above the hotplate where they will suck out the smoke.

After dinner, me and Dear went up to the highest point of the ski area which is 1050m above ground level. I was shivering in the cable car as we went up! However the moment we reached there, we were greeted by the beautiful white tree covered with snow and we could not resist taking photos.

This is how the ski slopes are divided...

Dear was trying to kick the snow so that it will dropped just as I snapped the picture. Quite successful for him but not for me.

1050m above as proof! Haha...

Top view down...

This is where all the pros aka experts goes down from. We even saw their national team players taking a rest at the cafe above.

After exploring, Dear started to feel hungry and we actually went to order Domino Pizza! This is their smallest pizza size which cost us about 20000 wons. The flavour was potato and ham which was quite nice!

After a good supper, we ended the night and turn in early!
