Birthday Dinner @ Jamie's Italian

Dear brought me to Jamie's Italian for my birthday dinner. Sadly he did not managed to do any online booking as it was already fully booked till October. We walked in to queue up at 645pm and the queue was already long.

After 45 minutes, we managed to get our reservation taken down and we have to wait about 100 minutes for our reservation.

Menu... You can actually find it on their website.

Table setting what greets you when you are seated...

Free flow of ice/warm water...

Happy me!

Dear's Homemade Italian Lemonade... ($5.50)

Dear ordered a Rump Steak Salad ($25.50). A great combination of grain-fed angus steak with crunchy fennel, watercress, mint, chilli, garlic, horseradish and lemon. Dear liked his steak to be medium raw.

The meat is very tender, not that chewy. You must have the meat and salad in every bite. I would recommend this dish if you are a beef-lover.

My order is Wild Mushroom Ravioli ($16/$24.50) which is filled with garlic, wild mushrooms and soft ricotta, served with rich mushroom and tomato sauce. If you do not know, soft ricotta is a kind of cheese which is sprinkled over the dish.

The ricotta is very fragrance and have some texture which enhances the ravioli. My portion was the smaller one which is $16. The portion is really small so don't be shocked by it.

Crispy Squid ($12) served with garlicky mayo and lemon aka calamari. The squid is very soft and easily bite off. I would strongly recommend if you like squid but the portion is very small.

To end off, we ordered a dessert. We actually asked the waitress for some recommendations which she suggested Tiramisu or Creamy Panna Cotta.

Creamy Panna Cotta ($9) is a lovely wobbly panna cotta served with  fruit compote. The first look is like pudding with many berries. However with every bite, the flavor of the pudding and sauce lingers in your mouth and you will yearn for the next bite. Highly recommended.

Overall we spent about $80 which is very reasonable. If you are considering going, I strongly suggest you to do online booking which saves you the trouble to queue. You can check them out at:
